Wenger should tell RVP about our great business
model when they discuss his contract in the summer. I mean.. Let's get our
priorities right here... What's gonna be more important to a player like RVP at
this stage of his career, who's standing shoulder to shoulder with him next
year.. Or.. Arsenal make record profits again and we're the perfect example of
a business... When Alan Sunderland scored that cracker against man u in 1979 at
Wembley I loved Arsenal because we won. I didn't care about the bank balance
and it wasn't the reasons to support a team back then. Now that's all that can
be said about modern day Arsenal. It's not all been glory days since then and
never has my support wavered since that day. But I can't understand when the
day came when true supporters of a club could accept financial board room
issues over the true feeling of seeing your club successful on the pitch. No
matter what level of football you play or watch.. No matter what trophy, it's
about winning...

Arsenal maintained their 100% start to this season's Champions League with a win against 10-man Partizan Belgrade.
Andrey Arshavin fired Arsenal ahead before Cleo levelled for Partizan with a penalty after Denilson's handball.
Arshavin missed a penalty for Arsenal after Marko Jovanovic was sent off for a foul on Marouane Chamakh before Chamakh scored with a headed.
Sebastien Squillaci's header from a corner extended the lead before Lukasz Fabianski saved Cleo's late penalty.
It was a moment of redemption for the Arsenal goalkeeper, who made a series of high-profile errors in last season's Champions League campaign but was a far more assured presence as replacement for the injured Manuel Almunia.
While this was a far less composed overall display from the Gunners than the one they produced to blow away Braga 6-0 in their opening Group H fixture, it contained enough quality to make the win a deserved one and go some way to eradicating the memory of Saturday's 3-2 home league defeat by West Brom.
A faulty floodlight meant the game began with one corner of the Stadion FK Partizan in darkness, but the home side began brightly against a nervous Arsenal backline.
Brazilian striker Cleo was muscled out after initially breaking clear but from the breakdown Nemanja Tomic would surely have scored but for a superb last-ditch tackle from Denilson.
Arsenal though have the ability to unlock even the toughest of European defences and they took the lead with a typically incisive move, albeit from their first real attack of the game. Alex Song found Arshavin, who continued his run after moving the ball on to Jack Wilshere, collecting a superb drag back from the young England player before drive low past home keeper Vladimir Stojkovic.
The goal was the perfect tonic for the Gunners, who proceeded to boss possession and regularly threaten the home defence with some superb attacking football for the next 20 minutes.

I've spent a year going blue in the face, telling anyone who would listen that Fabianski is a lot better than he is given credit for

Arshavin was central to the Gunners' play as firstly he was found again by Wilshere in the box only to see his shot smothered by Stojkovic and then minutes later beat the keeper with a superb, delicate chip only to see the effort acrobatically cleared off the line by the back-tracking Jovanovic.
If Partizan were to get a foothold back in the game it would need a moment of brilliance or an Arsenal error. The visitors duly obliged with the latter when an innocuous cross from Radosav Petrovic was unnecessarily handled by Denilson in the box, Cleo calmly sending Fabianski the wrong way from the penalty spot.
Arsenal were given a superb chance to take control of the game again early in the second half when Jovanovic brought down Chamakh in the box to concede a penalty and, as last man, earn himself a straight red card.

Arsenal got their bid for a first Champions League triumph off to the perfect start at the Emirates with a dismantling of Portuguese side Braga.
The Gunners took seven minutes to go ahead, Cesc Fabregas scoring from the spot after a foul on Marouane Chamakh.
Andrey Arshavin slammed in Fabregas's sublime pass, before Jack Wilshere superbly set up Chamakh to drill home.
Fabregas headed in to make it 4-0 and Carlos Vela dinked in a fifth before he stroked home another to wrap things up.
It was a display that epitomised everything boss Arsene Wenger holds dear as his Gunners team tore the Champions League debutants apart.
Arsenal brought their usual magnetic passing game to the European curtain-raiser, but they seemed to raise their level a notch above the norm with some fabulous interchanges that saw Braga spend most of the evening chasing shadows.

Wenger's side are chasing an 11th successive place in the last 16 of the competition and in a group also containing Shakhtar Donetsk and Partizan Belgrade there is little to suggest they will fail to make it beyond the group stage.
In front of an expectant Emirates Stadium crowd Arsenal were immediately into their stride and Braga, making their debut in the competition, looked overawed as a Fabregas-inspired Gunners swarmed all over them.
The Spaniard had a penalty appeal rejected after only three minutes and soon after it was from his pass that Braga keeper Felipe brought down Chamakh, Fabregas stepping up to slot home for his first goal of the season.
The visitors found themselves trying to repel wave after wave of Arsenal attack and while Braga occasionally looked threatening on the break, both Laurent Koscielny and Sebastien Squillaci dealt comfortably with whatever was thrown at them.
With half an hour gone they doubled their advantage as Fabregas jinked past two static defenders and slid in Arshavin down the left, the Russian drilling under Felipe to make it 2-0.
That soon became three as the Gunners scored a goal few inside the stadium are likely to forget in a hurry.

Another fine passing move at pace saw Bacary Sagna's cross from the right half-cleared, only for Arshavin to clip it to Chamakh, who laid it off and then collected a gorgeous back-heeled flick from Wilshere to crash past a flailing Felipe.
After the break it was a damage limitation exercise for Braga, but Arsenal still found gaping holes in their defence and one such opportunity enabled an unmarked Fabregas to head in Arshavin's cross from the left.
Fabregas had another shot cleared off the line and Arshavin rifled against the post, before Mexican striker Vela came on to inflict further misery on the visitors.
He first produced a classy, clipped finish to convert Arshavin's fine pass and then took advantage of Fabregas's generosity to knock in a sixth.
Bigger tests await Wenger and his team in Europe this season, but they could barely have got off to a more emphatic start.

I think there are logical reasons as to why we pick up more injuries than most other teams.
1. Our style of play means more often than not we have a larger % of possession than the opposition. This means we are subjected to more tackles per game. More tackles, means more chance of injury. Simple logic really.
2. Some opposition teams try the over physical approach (I am not moaning about it) it’s common knowledge that teams try this with us, and of course it takes its toll. Diaby’s injury against Bolton this weekend is the perfect example.
3. Almost all our players are internationals, and from all over the world too. Most play first team football for their respected countries (even our fringe players), and are subjected to long trips abroad and additional games. Yes, it’s the same for other teams, but this still fits into my theory for Arsenal as we gets lots of injuries after international breaks.
4.We have hardly ever started the season off with a fully fit squad. This puts more playing time on the fit players. They cannot be rested, and sometimes are forced to play through minor injuries which lead on to more serious injuries.
5. Because of our injury problems, as explained above, Wenger tends to rush injured players back and they suffer set backs. It like a viscous circle.
6. We have a very young squad. Young men can continue to grow and develop (this really is person specific) from 18 to as old as 25.

Arsenal could be without midffielder Abou Diaby as they prepare to kick of their champions league. Gruop H campaign at home against Braga on wednesday. Diaby pick picked up an injury in the 4-1 win over Bolton on saturday and Arsenal are waiting for the results of a scan.
The Gunners are already likely to be missing injured trio Nicklas Bendter, Theo Walcott and Robin Van persie. Braga who beat Celtic and sevilla to reach the Group stage, are without banned duo Elderson and Leandro Salino. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has warned his players to guard against complacency with the Gunners expected to easy through a group that also contains Shaktar Donetsk and partizan Balgrade. For as, a win on wednesday night is vital, becouse I believe the Group is much more diffcult than people expect it to be, said wenger. Braga finished in front of porto last year - played against porto and know they are a good side. Also they have just kicked Sevilla out in the play-offs. Shaktar Donetsk are one of the best European sides, that is why I believe it is very important wi start well at home. Arsenal should also welcome back rester full-backs Bacary Sagna and Geal Clichy as well as centre-back Thomas Vermaelen, who should return after a minor Achilles problem.
